I think a great example would be how Slate.com has their voting system setup at the bottom of each article (http://www.slate.com/id/2241877/). Each voting button is like the one that you have with Digg and Reddit - it shows the number of Diggs and Reddits. If people see other people have shared already using those sites, then they are more likely to click the share/vote button themselves.
The Facebook button that you have should also probably be the same size as the other buttons so it doesn't look slightly out of place next to them. The buttons on slate.com are a great example because they all are about the same size and shape.
I think the most important options to have are the following, in order: Reddit, Digg, Twitter, Yahoo Buzz, Facebook, Stumble Upon, del.icio.us
A similar plugin to yours is Sociable, which has a lot of different options, but that plugin doesn't have near the potential that yours does. Even if your plugin has fewer options, it can do them a lot better, I believe, if it's implemented similar to the Digg and Reddit buttons that you currently have.
Gorkfutag:feedback.rswr.net,2008-02-07:Event/10893432010-01-26T22:14:40-08:002010-01-26T22:14:40-08:00Facebook Button Needs to Show The Number of Users That Have Facebooked [updated]
I believe the most important feature about any of these icons is that it shows the number of people that have clicked to "vote" or "share" with that feature. [updated]
I like using Sociable because it gives a few more options, but it isn't near as good as S-ButtonZ when it comes to Reddit and Digg since S-ButtonZ shows the number of diggs/reddits and encourages users to digg and reddit more. Would it be possible to place in your digg/reddit buttons in the positions that Sociable currently has theirs?
Example: http://www.progressinaction.com/democrats/john-edwards-most-unpopular-person-ever/

One issue is if there’s an upgrade for the plugin that change is copied over and lost and I have to update it after the upgrade.
I guess this could be solved by giving a blank text box in the options that we can enter in the special section that we want the articles submitted to? Digg buttons are already set up in this way with the digg API mode.

As for reddit and other buttons, not all button providers have accessible APIs like digg has. At least last I checked.

It is still possible to setup all buttons that don't have available APIs, but you'll lose the counter effect and only have a button.

The original intent of this application was to provide counter buttons only.

I also have limited time these days to work on these plugins, but if anyone is willing to submit updates, I thank you in advance.

Gorkfutag:feedback.rswr.net,2008-02-07:Event/10141282010-01-05T10:37:25-08:002010-01-05T10:37:25-08:00S-ButtonZ Reddit Options
an anonymous user suggested:
one minor change that would be great would be in the reddit button. Currently I have to go into the plugin and change the reddit link from http://reddit.com/button.js?t=‘.$RDstyle.’ to http://politics.reddit.com/button.js?t=‘.$RDstyle.’ in order to have the articles submitted to that section. One issue is if there’s an upgrade for the plugin that change is copied over and lost and I have to update it after the upgrade.
I guess this could be solved by giving a blank text box in the options that we can enter in the special section that we want the articles submitted to? Otherwise, a drop down box could be added in the options were we could select the various sections that we can choose from. That would be ideal anyways.
anonymoustag:feedback.rswr.net,2008-02-07:Event/10141222010-01-05T10:36:11-08:002010-01-05T10:36:11-08:00Fix S-ButtonZ Causing Slow Page Loads with Reddit Enabled
an anonymous user suggested:
I have the S-ButtonZ plugin installed on my site. When the site loads sometimes the page is not loading for several seconds. I believe this is due to reddit not loading quickly and the rest of the page wont load until reddit finishes. I know some other plugins that use digg and reddit have it built in to where it allows the rest of the page to load before loading the digg or reddit buttons in order to avoid this. Would it be possible to have a similar change here?
anonymoustag:feedback.rswr.net,2008-02-07:Event/9726382009-12-22T14:00:14-08:002009-12-22T14:00:14-08:00Reddit Slows Loading of Site [is now declined]
My page loads slowly when Reddit is enabled on the site using S-ButtonZ. It would be nice to have an option that would allow the entire page to load and then Reddit and the other buttons load so it doesn't slow down the main display of the site.
Gorkfutag:feedback.rswr.net,2008-02-07:Event/9726372009-12-22T14:00:14-08:002009-12-22T14:00:14-08:00Reddit Slows Loading of Site [updated]
My page loads slowly when Reddit is enabled on the site using S-ButtonZ.
